In a groundbreaking study conducted by researchers from the University of the Punjab’s Department of Commerce in Gujranwala, Pakistan, the profound impact of green intellectual capital and green strategic intent on firm sustainability has come to light. This study also delves into the mediating influence of green innovation in the manufacturing industry within Gujranwala district.
Greening the Manufacturing Industry
The research aimed to explore how the presence of green intellectual capital and the strategic intent to adopt eco-friendly practices affect firm performance within the manufacturing sector. To achieve this, the investigator collected data from a sample of 500 subjects, ultimately analyzing 480 responses. The research employed statistical tools such as SPSS for demographic data, Cronbach’s alpha for reliability assessment, and Pearson’s model correlation. Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were performed using AMOS 24.
Revealing Insights
The results of this in-depth analysis offer invaluable insights. They reveal a strong and positive relationship between green strategic intent and green innovation, as well as firm sustainability. Furthermore, green intellectual capital also exhibits a positive and significant connection with green innovation and firm sustainability. However, it is worth noting that green innovation alone does not demonstrate a significant relationship with firm sustainability. This suggests that green innovation does not serve as a mediator between green intellectual capital and firm sustainability, nor between green strategic intent and firm sustainability.
A Glimpse into Pakistan’s Developing Economy
This study holds particular significance due to its contribution to understanding the evolving economic landscape of Pakistan. By investigating the interplay between green intellectual capital, green strategic intent, and firm sustainability in a developing economy, it offers a solid foundation for future scholars to build upon.
Shaping the Future of Manufacturing
The research provides fresh evidence and literature, underpinned by well-supported theories related to the examined variables. It offers a unique perspective on the manufacturing sector within the Gujranwala district, emphasizing the importance of adopting eco-friendly strategies for long-term sustainability.
This study underscores the essential role of green strategies, both in terms of intellectual capital and strategic intent, in shaping the sustainability of firms within the manufacturing industry.
